19 Weeks Old

Ty tomorrow you will be 19 weeks old and you are growing like a weed. You are wearing 9 month clothes and eating like a horse! You can still fit into your 6 month clothes but they are pretty tight, especially in the length.

Mommy has been experimenting with having you try new foods. First we explored green peas and you didn't like those! Then, we tried sweet potatoes and you were kinda interested. You would eat it but wasn't to sure about the taste. Then, Mommy went to the store and bought fresh organic avocados to pure at home. Mommy got them all ready and you HATED them! You gagged at the taste of it! It was very dramatic. I think you thought you were going to be poised by the taste of avocados. After that fiasco, Mommy decided to try one more new food. A couple days after the avocado, we tried bananas. You kinda like it! At first you weren't to sure about the taste, but you ate it and seemed pretty please. I think Mommy is going to take a little break from having you try new foods. I don't think you are ready or really interested yet. You still love your ba-ba and brown rice cereal.

Another thing about your eating... Daddy and I are working together to wean you off your colic calm!!!! I'm so excited and think you are ready. If I haven't mentioned it before we call your colic calm you appetizer, because we always give it to you first before your bottle and formula.
A really fun thing you have learned to do is to roll! You are rolling all over the place! It is so fun!!! I think you are really enjoying being able to move around. You can roll both directions and from you back to your stomach or vis-versa.  It's great that you are starting to roll around and explore your surroundings. If you are on your stomach you will try to reach for objects in front of you. Mommy and Daddy are trying to show you and teach you how to crawl. You are trying! You will kick your legs around, but you haven't figured out how to get them underneath of you yet. One time when you were rolling around, you starting rolling from your back to your belly, about halfway there you farted soooo loud! Mommy has it on video! It's hilarious. You seemed quick pleased with your self.

Some other fun things to know about is that Mommy and Daddy sing to you all the time. The best part is that Mommy doesn't know all the words to most songs, so I make them up as I go. For example, one of my favorite new songs to sing to you is:

"Oh Susanna don't you cry for me. I'm off to Montana with a shotgun on my knee!"

I will also sing the Maya the bee song!

"Whose that friendly little bee, buzzing here and buzzing there, sharing, caring everywhere! MAYA! MAYA the BEE!"

In the morning we watch PBS kids, and we watch the show "The Cat and the Hat Know A Lot About That." They have a fun song that I sing to you too:

"Here we go, go, go, go! On an adventure! The thing-a-ma-jiger is up and away! Here we go, go, go, go! On an adventure! Were flying with the cat and the hat today!

One of your favorite new toys to play with is your walker! You love to press the buttons and see them light up and play music. You are even tall enough now that Mommy doesn't have to put a blanket under your feet to touch anymore! You can stand flat footed on the ground! Mommy will put a couple toys for you to play with in your walker. Pretty soon you will be walking around the house!

You are having a lot of fun in your bath tub! You LOVE splashing around in your new Duck Bath Tub. Mommy and Daddy sing to you in the bath tub as well of course! After you get out of your bath Mommy will wrap you up in your towel and call you her little burrito!

This past weekend Daddy and I took you out to eat at a restaurant for the first time! Some of our friends came over to our house to visit and they asked us if we want to go out to eat with them and their baby. We went to Johnny Carino's. You did a pretty good job but Mommy and Daddy were a nervous wreck. You slept for a little while in your car seat. After about 20 minutes you woke up and were kinda fussy. We all passed you around the table to keep you occupied while everyone finished eating. Johnny Carino's was the first place Daddy and Mommy went out to eat together. Here is a picture of us at the same restaurant! Mommy and Daddy look so young here! And rested :)
